國外愛好者經常把黑水晶和蜜蜂蝦混淆。國外愛好者論壇屢見一些情況，寫著名字蜜蜂蝦，貼圖一看是黑水晶蝦。或者寫的名稱是黑水晶，貼圖是蜜蜂蝦。殊不知兩種名稱不是一個品種。比如，引用某國外作者的一個例子“ In fact the Crystal Red Shrimp is the red color mutation of the Bee Shrimp and is why it is sometimes called the Red Bee Shrimp.” 明顯拿Bee shrimp去和Crystal red shrimp並論... 國外把黑水晶學名成為Bee shrimp，那我國的蜜蜂蝦物種就這樣“消失”了？在這裡對國外研究者提出反對！
