研究介紹

有研究指出:人通過視覺獲得的知識占百分之八十三。最近二十年,視覺感測器在工業,科研,和日常生活上的廣泛套用,正深切的改變著人們的生活方式。視覺相關的研究已經成為學術界最炙手可熱的話題。然而,多數視覺系統中使用的相機的處理速度仍受限於視頻信號格式(例如,NTSC 30 fps, PAL 25 fps)。普通的視覺系統並不能用來分析高速運動和高速物理現象。然而,大量人類視覺系統不能感知的高速現象等待我們解開它們神秘的面紗。近年來,離線高速相機已經開始套用在工業,科研領域。通常這些離線高速相機可以工作在幾百到數千幀,將高速現象採集到相機自帶的記憶體中,然後再離線傳回到 PC 進行後處理。這種離線相機系統可以解決一些高速現象的分析問題,比如分析汽車撞擊實驗,發動機點火瞬間的燃燒效率分析等等。但離線高速相機有兩個無法逾越的限制:1)受限於離線高速相機自身記憶體的限制,離線視頻通常只能夠存儲幾秒到十幾秒的視頻數據;2)離線高速相機只能用以分析高速運動現象,並不能作為實時的視覺感測器使用。造成這兩個限制的原因是:1)受到圖像採集設備和處理設備之間的數據頻寬限制,高速圖像即使可以採集到千幀以上的視頻數據,並不能實時傳回處理設備來進行基於視覺的反饋控制;2)即使可以將圖像傳回圖像處理設備,要每秒處理數千幀的圖像數據,也幾乎是不可能完成的任務。然而,近年來在工業,醫學,細胞分析等領域對於實時高速視覺反饋有著強勁的需求。在這些套用中,我們需要實時線上分析高速運動的物體,並做出毫秒乃至微秒級別的反饋速度。
顧慶毅研究員長期從事高速視覺理論及套用的研發,在高速視覺硬體處理算法方面有近十年的理論及技術積累,成功的實現了多個工作在1000幀/秒的實時視覺反饋控制系統,包括快速目標追蹤、高通量細胞篩選、高速3D視覺等。相信實時高速視覺感測技術可以極大的提高工業自動化的生產效率,也有潛力為高尖端科研項目帶來突破性進展。
