發展泛函微分方程定性研究中建立各種邊值問題解的存在性、唯一性、多解存在性等的方法。發展研究周期解存在性、穩定性、解的振動性、漸近性、逗留性等的方法；揭示泛函微分方程解的一些新的定性現象，並套用新發展起來的相關理論和方法，研究物理、生物、工程技術及經濟學中提出來的泛函微分方程模型。為有廣泛套用前景的模型提供系統的分析方法，這具有重要的理論和實用價值。
