Temperance Brennan 'Bones'
外號“小骨”的貝倫是一位聰明勤勉不苟言笑的法醫人類學博士、無神論者。父母神秘失蹤，哥哥捲入罪案，讓她難以再相信其他人，也很難遊刃有餘地與他人溝通。貝倫博士只相信科學，但懂得很多不同宗教的事物；而且她認識多種語言：法文、西班牙文和中文。
Temperance Brennan 'Bones'Seeley Booth
孔武有力感受性低的聯邦調查局探員，是個退役狙擊手，有個小兒子。他與貝倫是最好的拍檔。在第二季里，布斯被West Virginia mobster綁架和拷問，最後被貝倫博士解救。在第三季里，布斯被一個患有精神病的女人Pam Nunan騷擾，最後更為了保護貝倫博士而被槍擊。
Angela Montenegro
藝術家，善於用計算機3D成像做遺骸復原圖。安傑拉是貝倫博士最好的朋友。在第二季里，Angela開始與哈金約會，並打算結婚；最後，一對準新人逃離婚禮。在之後發現原來已在斐濟與別人結婚，雖然成功離婚，但是與哈金斯卻因而分手。在第五季末與哈金複合，並完成了未完成的婚禮。
Jack Hodgins
昆蟲學博士，也是一位微生物學家；陰謀論是他的業餘喜好。Angela曾是他的未婚妻，最初已經分手。他是全美第三大的私營公司 Cantilever Group 唯一的合法繼承人。在第五季末與Angela複合，並完成了未完成的婚禮。直到第六季末，Angela為他生下兒子, 起名Michael Staccato Vincent Hodgins。
