她本科和碩士畢業於北京大學，後在美國北卡羅來納大學(The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) 商學院(Kenan-Flagler Business School)獲得博士學位，主修企業戰略管理。
謝絢麗博士的研究集中在企業創新領域，包括創業企業發展，企業產品多元化以及公司治理對企業創新能力的影響等。現教授的課程有戰略管理理論(Strategic Management)、戰略分析與設計(Strategic Analysis and Formulation)、企業家與創業管理(Entrepreneurship)、管理學基礎(Foundation of Management)。
