田方寶博士主要從事複雜流動和流固耦合數值算法及其在生物流體力學中的套用方面的研究工作。其使用的數值方法主要包括基於格子波爾茲曼方法的內置邊界法、基於有限差分方法的銳利界面內置邊界法和有限元方法。主要研究對象包括生物發聲的流固耦合研究，生物飛行和遊動流體動力學研究，血管流動和血細胞流固耦合研究，旗子/絲線流固耦合機理研究和非牛頓流體力學研究。
