《生死連線》講述事業有成的律師蓋瑞近來卻霉運不斷：車子拋錨、賭運欠佳、背著老婆與情婦偷腥、加上即將為有罪的當事人挑選陪審團的壓力，令蓋瑞將滿肚子怨氣出在電話接線生身上，甚至對她惡言相向、口出無狀；不料這位自稱“濕婆”（印度神，掌管破壞與再生）的接線生並不是個逆來順受的受氣包，因而決定給這位“造口業”的辯護律師一個永生難忘的教訓。
