劇情簡介
作弄別人，就會遭到別人的報復。這就是本片主人公劉易斯和他哥哥的命運。在科羅拉多州大學一年級讀書的劉易斯買了輛舊車，打算前往新澤西，找女友維拉共渡周末。他還順路把因酒後駕車而被鹽湖城警局拘捕的哥哥富勒保釋出來，並打算把他送到丹佛市。兄弟二人上路了，在路上，哥哥富勒經不住長路漫漫的寂寞買了一個汽車對講機，打算同那些寂寞無聊、行駛在內華達公路上的司機們逗趣聊天，打發漫長枯寂的旅途時光。
不一會兒，他們收聽到一個男子沉悶、沙啞的嗓音。哥哥富勒心生一計，讓劉易斯假裝女人同這名男子打情罵俏，開一通玩笑。一陣瞎扯之後，劉易斯就和那個男子約好到某旅館17號房間見面。那名男子忙不迭趕到旅館，找到17號房：迎接他的是一個滿臉兇相的大胖子。此同時，躲在隔壁房間偷聽的哥兒倆樂得忘乎所以，久久不能入睡。可是，兄弟倆萬萬沒有想到的是，那名男子並不是好惹的主，他正在展開瘋狂的報復行動……
