工作經歷
1996年被聘為研究員和白暨豚研究室主任。1999年任黨委副書記（主持工作）、副所長。研究工作包括動物聲行為：主要研究小型鯨類動物的發聲、聲與行為和環境的關係；白暨豚、江豚及其他小型鯨類的生態學及物種保護：主要研究種群數量變動規律及其與人類活動的關係，探討和實施保護對策。現為IUCN鯨類專家組成員、亞洲河海豚委員會委員和中科院生物多樣性委員會委員。
研究方向
主要研究方向為動物行為學和保護生物學。
