劇情簡介
托尼和她的父親、作家馬修·馬丁住在加利福尼亞州的紅杉林中。走路時，她發現並帶回了一隻她稱之為加托“Gato”的小美洲獅和一隻名叫馬里布“Malibu”的小鹿。她和這兩隻小野獸成為了朋友，這違反了正常的自然規律。幾年後，托尼和她的父親離開了森林，加托和馬里布回到了野外。他們做動物的事情，但仍然很友好。當托尼和馬修回來時，他們發現伐木和狩獵已經使該地區的動物大量死亡。他們還發現，他們的鄰居伯格曼多年來一直在捕捉動物，他正在領導狩獵隊，甚至殺死了小鹿。加托和馬里布能否倖存取決於他們。
