潘寶成,潘寶成,生物物理學博士,副教授,中山大學新華學院資訊管理系專職教師。1998年畢業於美國俄亥俄州立大學哥倫布分校,生物物理學專業。曾在耶魯大學分子生物物理和分子生物化學系進行結構生物學研究,師從諾貝爾獎得主Thomas A. Steitz 。研究RNA聚合酶的分子結構、功能以及催化機理。所設計的具有化學反應活性的結晶系統方法準確地揭示了蛋白質和核酸的相互作用機理,為X-光晶體學研究生物複合體相互作用機理提供了一種更可靠的方法,其研究成果發表在《科學》雜誌上。現研究方向是理論生物學,試圖從理論的角度來探討生物學的基本問題、基本過程及其規律。
