淨良長老

淨良長老,法名果忠,字淨良,號壽光樓主、逸雲山人,別號彌陀侍者;福建福安人。1946年農曆九月十九日觀音菩薩出家紀念日,投禮福安福慶寺清亮和尚座下剃度,是年十月於福州鼓山湧泉寺受具戒,隨後即入禪堂學參。1955年起參與佛教會行政工作,協助「世界佛教華僧會」之籌開,從1973年七月出任台北縣佛教會理事長起,共達二十六年,任內於1981年傾台北縣佛教會之力,假圓山臨濟寺舉辦護國三壇大戒,恭請白聖長老擔任得戒和尚、淨心長老任教授和尚,自任羯磨和尚。並協助歷任理事長如玄信法師、隆道法師、淨心長老等改組與健全人事組織。

個人經歷
淨良長老,法名果忠,字淨良,號壽光樓主、逸雲山人,別號彌陀侍者(自創彌陀六音念佛,亦可適念諸佛菩薩聖號);福建福安人。1946年農曆九月十九日觀音菩薩出家紀念日,投禮福安福慶寺清亮和尚座下剃度,是年十月於福州鼓山湧泉寺受具戒,隨後即入禪堂學參。1949年二月隨心悟、心然二師進入台灣佛學院親近慈航菩薩研習佛典,嗣被分配至基隆月眉山靈泉寺「台灣佛學院分院」學習,旋又回歸汐止彌勒內院慈航菩薩座下聽教,曾至新竹靈隱寺「台灣佛教講習會」親近大醒法師,直至1952年主理暖暖金山寺務為止。1953年十月彌陀寺動土興建,1956年創立佛教講堂於三重市。1962年重整彌陀寺。 1955年起參與佛教會行政工作,協助「世界佛教華僧會」之籌開,從1973年七月出任台北縣佛教會理事長至1999年止,共達二十六年,任內於1981年傾台北縣佛教會之力,假圓山臨濟寺舉辦護國三壇大戒,恭請白聖長老擔任得戒和尚、淨心長老任教授和尚,自任羯磨和尚。並以台灣省佛教會常務理事身份協助歷任理事長如玄信法師、隆道法師、淨心長老等改組與健全人事組織。

1974年因了中長老力邀,參與中國佛教會第八屆之改組,力主重整會務,健全人事組織,協助白聖長老復任理事長。1980年以常務理事身份兼代秘書長,次年春真除秘書長。在中國佛教會期間,因貢獻卓著,1981年春夏間,受到白聖長老之倚重,接受臨濟宗第四十二代嗣法傳人,賜法名定紹。同年協助白聖長老籌辦世界佛教僧伽會第三屆大會,兼任該會副秘書長一職;同時參與主持世界佛教華僧會議,被舉為主席團主席之一(大會之後為主席團制)。1982年出任台北市佛教會理事長,為消除人事糾結,建立制度,請辭中佛會秘書長之職,專責台北縣市兩會工作之推動,至2005年自請卸職(依人團法規定,仍可再連任一屆),長達二十三年有餘。任內創辦《台北佛教》雜誌、舉辦仁王護國法會、出版《仁王護國法會專集》等。1990年代表中國佛教會,率團出席在韓國召開之世界佛教徒友誼會第十七屆大會,並爭取第十八屆在台灣召開,接受大會移交之會旗,嗣由佛光山主辦。

在大陸尚未開放之前,即由中國佛教會秘書長了中長老提會通過以常務理事兼任兩岸交流委員會主任委員,至1997年為止;兩岸開放往來後,多次走訪大陸,致力於建立兩岸教徒法誼,頗有貢獻;因此成為明暘長老曹洞宗四十八代嗣法傳人。1992年創設中華佛寺協會,出任兩屆理事長,發行《佛寺季刊》。2001年十一月受到中國佛教會理事諸公的推舉,出任第十五屆理事長;2006年二月改組時,原意不再連任,因受諸位理事大德的擁護,又續任之。自師來台迄今,計有四十餘年奉獻於教會。

Birthplace: Fuan City, Fujian Province, China
In September 19th of lunar calendar, 1946, the date when Kuan-yin Bodhisattva received the ordination, Ven. Ching Liang was given the tonsure under Ven. Cing Liang in Fu Ching Monastery of Fuan City. In October he was ordained in Yong Cyuan Monastery of Fuzhou City and started the meditative practice and doctrinal learning. In February 1949 he followed Ven. Sin Wu and Ven. Sin Ran to Taiwan Buddhist Institute to get close with Tzu Hang Bodhisattva and learn Dharma. At that time he was assigned to the branch of Taiwan Buddhism Institute, Ling Cyuan Monastery, in Keelung City. Then, he went bake to Maitreya Monastery(彌勒內院), in Hsichih(汐止), to listen to the lectures under Tzu Hang Bodhisattva. He had been to Taiwan Buddhist Lecture Association of Ling Wun Monastery, in Hsinchu City, to get close with Ven. Da Sing until 1952. He took on the responsibility to be in charge of Jin Shan Temple in Nuan Nuan District. In September 1953 Mi-to Temple was built and in 1956 he found the Buddhist Dharma Hall in San Chong City. In 1962 the Mi-to Temple was repaired and re-built.
In 1965 he participated in the administrative work of Buddhist association, and assisted to found World Buddhist Sanga Council. He worked as the president of Taipei County Buddhist Association from September 1973 to 1999. The time reached a total of 26 years. During taking on the position of president, he devoted all his energy to hold the Triple Platform Full Ordination(Santan Dajie)in Linchi Temple of Yuanshan, Taipei while inviting the Venerable Master Bai Sheng to be the Precept Transmitter, the Venerable Master Ching Hsin to be the Teaching Transmitter and made himself the Karmadana. He also assisted the former presidents (Ven. Syuan Sin, Ven. Long Dao and Ven. Jing Sin) to reorganize and integrate the personnel while working as the managing director of the Buddhist Association of ROC.
In 1974 Ven. Liao Chung invited Ven. Ching Laing to participate in the reorganization of the Eighth the Buddhist Association of ROC. He took the responsibility to reorganize the administrative matters, integrate the personnel and assist Ven. Bai Sheng’s re-election for the president. In 1980 Venerable Ching Liang worked as the managing director and General Secretary. Next spring he resigned the position of General Secretary. During serving in the Buddhist Association of ROC, because of his eminent contribution, he was valued by Ven. Bai Sheng and he received the honor to be the 42nd descendant of Rinzai Zen (Rinzai school). He was given the dharma name, Ding Shao. In the same year he assisted Ven. Bai Sheng to plan and arrange for the 3rd General Conference of World Buddhist Sanga Council (WBSC). He served as the vice secretary of WBSC, concurrently. He was also the host of the World Chinese Buddhist Sangha Congress and then to be elected as one of the presidium. In 1982 he took up the post of the president of Taipei Buddhist Association. He dispelled the personnel discord and established the system. He resigned the post of secretary of the Buddhist Association of ROC and emphasized on the promotion of the two Associations between Taipei City and Taipei County. In 2005 he resigned the position (according to the Law of Citizen's Organizations, Ven. Ching Liang can still take on the position for one more period.) Ven. Ching Liang served as the president for more than 23 years. During the retention time he found the magazine “Taipei Buddhism”, held “Dharma Assembly of the Humane King Who Protects His Country” and issued the “Corpus of the Dharma Assembly of the Humane King Who Protects His Country,” etc. In 1990 he was a delegate of the Buddhist Association of ROC to attend the 17th Conference of World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB) held in Korea. Ven. Ching Liang endeavored to get the opportunity to hold the 18th Conference in Taiwan. Finally, he received the banner of WFB and achieved the wish that the 18th Conference was held in Fo Guang Shan, Taiwan.Before the implementation of China's tourism policy, Ven. Laio Chung, the General Secretary of the Buddhist Association of ROC, made the proposal in the conference to nominate Ven. Ching Liang to be both the managing director and director of the Cross-Strait Relations Committee. He took on the both positions until 1997. After the implementation of China's tourism policy Ven. Ching Liang visited Mainland China for several times. He contributed a lot to the Dharma relationship between Taiwan and China. Therefore, he became the 48th Dharma descendant of Ven. Ming Yang of Caodong (Soto school). In 1992 he established the Chinese Buddhist Temple Association. He served as president for two times and issued the “Buddhist Temple Quarterly.” In November 2001 he was elected as the 15th president by all the former presidents of the Buddhist Association of ROC. In February 2006 the Buddhist Association of ROC was being reorganized, Ven. Ching Laing did not have the will to take on the position, but because in support of Ven. Jing Sin and all the members of the association, he was reappointed to be the president until 2010. Ven. Ching Laing devotes himself to the association for more than 40 years.Present Incumbency
