城市生態；全球城市環境變化；城市植被與空氣污染物的相互作用機制；生態遙感。

主要貢獻

長期進行城市生態，城市林業和生態遙感上的研究。楊軍在使用以植被為主的綠色基礎設施來緩解城市的生態問題的理論和實施措施方面的研究上取得一定進展。在研究中構建了結合傳統森林調查，遙感，和生態系統模型來研究城市森林結構和功能的方法，為定量化研究城市森林的結構及功能提供了借鑑。

楊軍共主持和參與研究項目二十餘項，在國際國內刊物上已發表三十餘篇文章，其中被SCI刊物收錄16篇，SSCI收錄2篇，發表刊物包括Landscape and Urban Planning, Atmospheric Environment和Urban Forestry & and Urban Greening 等相關領域頂尖學術刊物. 於2005年發表在Urban Forestry & and Urban Greening上的以城市森林來緩解北京空氣污染一文已經被其他文章引用123次（Google Scholar 檢索），列該刊物創刊以來文章被引用次數最多的文章之一。現擔任國際樹木栽培協會（International Society of Arboriculture）科學與教育委員會國際執委，SCI刊物Urban Forestry & and Urban Greening 編委。
