林基財教授1988年從愛荷華大學獲得博士學位；後加入路易斯安娜州立大學，曾任金融學助理教授、副教授和教授，也是Lloyd F. Collette 金融服務講席教授；於2015年加入香港理工大學，成為香港理工大學金融學講席教授。

研究領域

林基財教授學術興趣廣泛，在投資、公司金融、市場微觀結構、投資者行為、市場有效性等領域從事多年研究；在金融學領域國際頂級學術期刊Journal of Finance,Journal of Financial Economics,Review of Financial Studies,Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis,Journal of Corporate Finance,Financial Management, Journal of Financial Markets, andJournal of Banking and Finance等有多篇學術論文發表。

林基財教授曾在美國、英國、芬蘭、中國大陸、中國香港地區、中國台灣地區等國家和地區多所大學講學；現擔任學術期刊Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies 和Review of Pacific Basin Financial Markets and Policies的副主編，還擔任學術期刊Annals of Financial Economics和Journal of Financial Studies編委。
