人生經歷
曹希仁，江蘇無錫人。1967年畢業於中國科學技術大學近代物理系，1982年、1984年獲得美國哈佛大學的工程碩士、套用數學博士學位。1984-1986年在美國哈佛大學從事博士後研究工作曾分別在美國哈佛大學和馬塞諸塞大學Amherst 分校任教、並在馬里蘭大學College Park分校、聖母(Notre Dame) 大學等校任訪問教授。1993年作為教授進入香港科技大學工作，2005年成為該校電子與計算機工程系首批講座教授Chair Professor，此後在美國數字設備公司(Digital Equip. Corp.)任主管/經理, 總工程師/顧問工程師，2010年7月起受聘為上海交通大學講席教授。

研究方向
目前的研究方向包括：離散事件動態系統、隨機學習與最佳化理論、通信系統性能分析、信號處理、金融工程。
人物成果
在離散事件系統攝動分析和隨機系統基於靈敏度的最佳化等領域作了開創性和奠基性的工作, 為離散事件系統攝動分析的共同創始人。在離散事件系統的攝動分析中提出的理論與算法已成為該領域中的經典, 所提出的數學模型己在國際上成為該領域標準，並將離散事件系統的理論與方法成功地套用於計算機通訊系統和信號處理等領域，其主要成果獲得國家自然科學二等獎（第一獲獎人）、IFAC的傑出服務獎（Outstanding Service Award）等。
在數字、電子通信領域擁有三項技術專利。現已在性能最佳化理論和離散事件動態系統領域發表三本著作。於1987年獲得IEEE控制系統學會頒發的傑出會刊論文獎，1990年獲得美國管理科學學會頒發的傑出文獻獎，2008年獲得國際自動控制聯合會（IFAC）頒發的傑出服務獎，並於2009年榮獲國家自然科學二等獎。他在多家國內外期刊上發表過學術論文。目前的研究方向包括：離散事件動態系統、隨機學習與最佳化理論、通信系統性能分析、信號處理、金融工程。
兼職
擔任IEEE Fellow 評選委員會，IEEE 控制系統學會主席(2005-2007)，中國自動化學會常務理事，Discrete Event Dynamic Systems : Theory and Application雜誌主編，IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control雜誌Associate Editor at Large(1999–2008)等學術職務。
