Tamas Wells既是團名也是其中主唱的名字，這支來自澳洲墨爾本的indie-pop樂團最早成立於2000年初，當時只有Owen Gray (bass, harmonica)及Ben Castle(violin)兩名成員，發行的第一張EP"Hello Jealousy"是張帶點政治意味的民謠唱片，創作靈感來自當年的“第三世界國家債務解除運動”，第二年鼓手Nathan Collins的加入帶入了新的創作元素，而接下來緊密的巡迴演出，也為Tamas Wells在當地樂界積累了不少人氣。2002年3月和8月分別發行了兩張廣受好評的EP（"Cigarettes, a Tie and a Free Magazine"及"Stitch In Time"），Ben中途退出，接著加入了Tamas和Anthony。知名製作人Tim Whitten（曾製作過Gersey, Art of Fighting, Gaslight Radio）在聽過"Stitch in Time" 之後頗為欣賞，邀請他們來悉尼的Megaphon studios共同錄製新唱片，2004年第一張專輯"A Mark On The Pane"曾被評為當年最美的唱片之一。
儘管Tamas Wells十歲那年沒能通過AMEB一級鋼琴考試，卻是從那時起真正喜愛上音樂，當被人提及他那“毫不做作的天使般的嗓音”時，他說那是一天喝八升水的成果。聽著Tamas Wells總是容易想起那些騎著腳踏車四處遊蕩無憂無慮的校園時光，如此純淨美好的聲音。
