2006年3月，國際電氣工程師學會IEE和國際企業工程師學會（IIE）合併，更名為國際工程技術學會（IET）。目前，IET學會在全球37個國家擁有15萬以上會員。是學會所涉及的領域範圍內，歐洲規模最大、全球第二的國際專業工程學會。

IET學會現有如下幾種會員類型，學生會員（Stuent Member）、普通會員（Member without post-nominals）、高級會員（Member with post-nominals）、會士（Fellow）。其中，IET/IEE會士( Fellow)，是在科學與工程技術領域內取得重要成就的傑出高級專業技術人員。
資格證書
國際工程技術學會IET有資格授予全球廣泛認可的資格證書，如特許工程師CEng, 企業工程師IEng，工程技術員EngTech等。英國國際工程技術學會每年都在全球各地舉辦大量國際會議和其它國際交流活動，出版500多種出版物。
