人物經歷
1980年由鎮江市第一中學考入南京大學中文系，1984年獲文學學士學位，1987年獲文藝學碩士學位並留校任教。
研究方向
植物基因工程和油菜分子育種,植物生長發育的分子調控和育種套用, 油菜育種新質源和新方法研究等。
主要貢獻
系統闡明了我國油菜主要品質性狀的遺傳規律, 建立了優質高產育種新方法；
首次將顯性核不育基因套用於油菜輪迴選擇，將分子標記和小孢子培養套用於油菜高產抗病的輪迴選擇,育成一批高產優質抗（耐）病新品系；參加育成油菜品種3個；
首次獲得了蕓薹屬種間雜種的小孢子植株，並對油菜離體小孢子胚胎髮生能力遺傳特性進行了分析；
較為系統深入地研究了植物細胞分裂抑制基因的功能，利用細胞周期基因對油菜小孢子胚胎髮生的影響和生長發育特性進行調控，獲得了無花瓣轉基因油菜等特殊種質資源。
在國內外專業期刊發表研究論文40多篇。申請美國專利一項。
近5年發表的8篇SCI論文已被SCI源刊引用100多次。申請美國專利一項。
1988年以來，主持了國家科技攻關，國家自然科學基金，國際科學基金、國家教委優秀年輕教師基金以及其他省部級攻關課題十多項。
長期從事植物遺傳和油菜生物技術育種研究和教學工作，曾在加拿大從事植物分子生物學和生物技術研究多年。
