劇情簡介

精神外遇或肉體外遇，哪一種出軌方式對婚姻殺傷力最大？一對婚姻幸福的年輕夫婦─麥可(薩姆·沃辛頓飾)和喬安娜(凱拉·奈特莉飾)，不僅事業成功，兩人住在曼哈頓一棟時尚公寓裡，過著精神及物質生活上舒適且完美的生活。然而，看似擁有一切的兩人在一起出席麥可的工作派對後，麥可與新同事蘿拉(伊娃·門德斯飾)之間曖昧的互動，在喬安娜的心中埋下了懷疑的種子。當麥可和美麗的蘿拉一起到外地出差的同時，喬安娜在曼哈頓街頭巧遇了曾經深愛過的舊情人艾力克斯(吉約姆·卡內飾)。在麥可努力抗拒誘惑的這一晚，喬安娜對於麥可的懷疑，以及對過往感情的懷念，讓她對婚姻的忠誠度開始搖擺不定，這對恩愛伴侶能否在這充滿誘惑的一晚克制住自己的理智？而這一段美滿的婚姻是否會就此破裂？導演藉由本片探討現代人的愛情與婚姻，在欲望和忠誠度之間拉扯下，“懷疑”本身會為婚姻帶來多大的傷害。
