傑弗里·M·霍奇遜（Geoffrey .M Hodgson），世界著名制度經濟學家和演化經濟學家，歐洲演化經濟學會主席及社會科學院院士，舊制度經濟學的當代傳人，Journal of Institutional Economics主編。英國當代資深的馬克思主義研究者。

霍奇遜出生於1946年，畢業於劍橋大學，現為英國哈特福德大學（University of Hertfordshire）教授、博士生導師，制度經濟學研究中心主任，被聘為法國、奧地利、瑞典、日本、美國等多所大學的客座教授，並曾在劍橋大學任教8年。
在英國著名的Edward Elgar出版社舉行的一次經濟學家排名調查中（該調查依據引用率分析），Hodgson教授在現在1168名經濟學家中名列64名，著名的Tom Coupe曾以650種社會科學期刊綜合引用指數對所有在世1000名的經濟學家進行了一次排名，Hodgson教授名列世界第62位，英國第二。迄今為止，Hodgson教授已經出版10多部專著和170多篇學術論文。作為當代制度經濟學和演化經濟學的傑出經濟學，Hodgson教授復興了舊制度經濟學派的研究方法，並對其進行全面的創新，開創了“制度演化經濟學”這一經濟學的嶄新領域。Hodgson教授的研究成果已成為從事制度經濟學和演化經濟學研究的學者必不可少的參考文獻。
霍奇遜跟中國學術界交往密切。目前主要是每年前往山東大學經濟研究院（中心）講學兩個月，另外也常常到我國其他高校做學術報告。
