《中學生英語幽默故事選》內容簡介：現行中學英語教材內容豐富、語言標準，而且高考的閱讀題難度並未超出中學教材，但是為什麼相當一部分學生得分仍然不高，究其原因，恐怕應歸咎於教材的“精”有餘而“泛”不足。為此，我們從英美報刊雜誌和網際網路上選取了兩百多篇內容健康、語言生動、形式多樣的英語幽默故事，供學生課外閱讀之用。文章時代性強，語言是當代英美人的日常用語，可以作為標準教材的輔助材料。絕大多數為原文，個別文章按中國學生的文化背景作了少量修改。我們為每篇文章編制了檢測題，學生可以藉此進行自我檢測。個別文章由於難度較大，我們在後面加上提示。文章由短到長，由易到難，適合國中到高中學生的閱讀水平。由於編者水平有限，有錯之處，望讀者不吝指教。
