A young man is talking at a public phone booth one night when a woman suddenly comes up from behind him and savagely beats him with a baseball bat. The next morning, another young man wakes up to find a message on his answering machine left by his friend just as he was attacked. At the same time, he starts receiving phone calls from a mysterious woman who gives him clues about where she is and what happened to his friend. Wherever he goes, she seems to know exactly where he is. He follows her telephones clues, desperate to find out what happened, but what will be waiting for him when he reaches the end of the line?
