Lady Gaga在接受《走進好萊塢》的訪談節目採訪時，表示《Poker Face》是一首雙性戀歌曲，她認為這首歌曲所表達的內容是她的個人經驗，同時又補充說這首歌是關於一個女人在與男人交往的時候，又同時幻想著與女人在一起的故事。因此，人們必須傾聽她的《Poker Face》才能來理解她心裡的所思所想。

《Poker Face》是一首由合成器製成的歌曲，延續了Lady Gaga上一支單曲《Just Dance》的音樂風格，融入了舞曲和流行電音。歌曲音調以A小調為主，歌曲本身被設有一項每分鐘120次的音樂節拍，前奏和弦為“Am–F/A–G”，復歌和弦為“Am–F–C–G”。而作為錄唱歌手，Lady Gaga的音域必須位於C5和G3之間。
歌曲MV
由於負責拍攝MV的唱片公司不想讓Lady Gaga全部掌控錄影創作，而請來Ray Kay負責MV的拍攝導演。在MV中，Lady Gaga選了幾套引人注目的服裝，其中的潛水裝由Lady Gaga親手製作。
