創作背景

《Hymn For The Weekend》的歌詞、曲譜由酷玩樂隊創作，製作人包括里克·辛普森、星門製作團隊、Digital Divide、Avicii。酷玩主唱克里斯·馬汀曾構想這首歌曲的和聲聲部的歌詞是“Drinks on me”，並認為它應該由酒吧里的一個有錢人大聲吼出來。克里斯認為它很類似於《Turn Down for What》這類夜店舞曲，所以給它取名《Drinks on Me》。不過，樂隊的其他成員認為這個歌詞設計並不合適、並且不適合克里斯唱，於是勸說他把歌詞改成了現在的“drink from me”、並邀請了碧昂絲來演唱這一部分。

《Hymn for the Weekend》的MV由Ben Mor指導，凱蒂·多蘭和麥克·羅森伯格監製，妮娜·德盧希-米勒製作。MV特地到印度實地取景拍攝，以印度霍利節（又譯作“灑紅節”）為背景，酷玩樂隊成員穿行孟買街頭，與當地人無拘無束地相互潑灑、塗抹五顏六色的彩粉。碧昂絲以傳統印度風造型出演了這支MV。碧昂絲的造型由印度設計師組合Jani & Khosla打造，在一片段預告牆前，碧昂絲身著華麗的金色刺繡服飾，頭戴一頂巨大花冠，手上則有印度特色的指甲花彩繪圖案，畫面極富視覺衝擊。
