A ten-year-old Japanese-Canadian girl who struggles with family and school - a grandfather with alzheimer, a frustrated mother, an indifferent teacher, and intolerant peers. Chika's Bird is a coming-of-age story about a young girl finding her strength through her connection with her grandfather and the origami he folds.
