B-Side這一稱謂源自膠木唱片時代，當時唱片公司發放給電台的唱片稱之為A-Side，A-Side為打榜歌曲。而膠木唱片還有一個面(B-Side)，不用白不用，於是就刻上另一首不太重要的作品。進入CD時代後，Single這種唱片模式被保留了下來，CD唱片只有一個面，但在Single唱片之中仍收錄了一首至幾首不重要的作品，這類作品沿用了舊時代的稱謂，稱為B-Side。

這張B-SIDES收錄的大概是Avril尚未正式出名的一些沒有被正式發行的創作，當然其間也包含了一些日後在專集中出現的單曲例如things I‘ll never say以及american wedding的OST裡面出現的那首i don’t give a damn，稍有些不同的是,這中的things I'll never say是一個沒有雙聲部的版本，以及這張裡面的I don‘t give a damn可以說是一個dirty版本，副歌裡面出現了shit這個不雅的辭彙。這張B-SIDE裡面還有一首叫做let go的歌，它的名字和Avril的第一張專輯的名字相同，但是這首歌卻並沒有出現在那張專輯中，這個問題很值得推敲一下。專輯中其他的歌曲都是Avril的早期的風格，也就是說接近let go那種青春的張揚，所以對於喜歡早期Avril的fans來說，這張B-SIDES還是很具有收藏價值的。
