迪安·賈格爾(Dean Jagger)是美國早期著名的性格演員。 他1903年11月7日生於俄亥俄州利馬市。從二十年代起就活躍在歌舞與戲劇舞台上。1929年拍攝了第一部影片：《從地獄來的女人》。此後幾乎每年都拍一至二部影片。賈格爾禿頭，強健，風度極好，各種類型的角色都能演：從敢幹敢為的男子到遐思冥想的男子。
1950年，他和格利高里·派克搭檔，拍攝了一部戰爭題材的影片《十二點正》(Twelve O'clock High)。該片描寫第二次世界大戰期間，美空軍一個重型轟炸機組遭嚴重創傷，士氣低落，司令部特地派去一位治軍嚴格的軍官去重建機組。賈格爾所飾的是一位中年參謀，他常常回憶起激烈空戰的情景。由於出色的演技，他獲得了最佳男配角獎。
迄今為止，這位獎主一共拍了二十八部影片以及若干部電視劇（如《諾瓦克先生》等）。
