蔡小東（1978-），男，湖北浠水人，博士、教授、碩士生導師，湖北美田生物科技有限公司研發部主任，湖北省生薑品種及綠色生產技術轉化中試研究基地主任。現任長江大學園藝園林學院教授。

人物經歷

1997年9月—2001年7月，華中農業大學園藝系果樹學專業學習，獲農學學士學位；

2001年9月—2006年12月，華中農業大學種質資源與改良國家重點實驗室柑橘課題組學習，獲農學博士學位；

2006年12月—至今：長江大學園藝園林學院，從事教學與科研工作。

期間：2013.11—2014.05：美國佛羅里達大學Gulf Coast Research and Education Center訪問學者

研究方向

1. 香辛作物細胞工程育苗技術；

2. 香辛作物體細胞變異機理；

3. 香辛作物新品種選育。

主要成就

蔡小東主要從事香辛作物細胞工程與育種研究，先後承擔國家自然科學基金、湖北省重點研發計畫項目、瑞典國際科學基金（International foundation of science, IFS）、湖北省教育廳等項目。選育生薑新品種2個，授權專利1項，參編學術著作3部，以第一作者或通訊作者在學術刊物上發表論文50餘篇，SCI收錄20餘篇。

社會任職

湖北美田生物科技有限公司研發部主任、湖北省生薑品種及綠色生產技術轉化中試研究基地主任。
