第69屆奧斯卡頒獎典禮，在美國洛杉磯市當地時間1997年03月24日晚舉辦。當時本屆最大的贏家為電影英國病人 The English Patient，獲得“最佳電影獎”等8項獎項。本屆最佳男主角是《閃亮的風采》的傑弗里·拉什 Geoffrey Rush，最佳女主角為《冰雪暴》的弗蘭西斯·麥克多蒙德 Frances McDormand。同時《英國病人》的朱麗葉·比諾什 Juliette Binoche因獲得“最佳女配角”的榮譽，而在好萊塢名聲大噪。
