《浪裏白條異樣情》講述了廣告公司老闆要求員工和客戶一起參加木筏泛舟活動，藉以擬聚共識，增進感情。然而在波濤洶湧的河流中，眾人開始因立場不同而產生矛盾，老闆又對不可避免的悲劇意圖逃避責任。一個立意良好的計畫，反而成為人性陰暗面的照妖鏡，編導羅伯特．巴特勒對團體活動的所謂健康積極性表達了令人沮喪的看法，尤其一向在銀幕上扮演老好人的艾倫．阿爾達負責注釋這個沒有肩膀的老闆更是令觀眾感到齒冷。而多災多難的泛舟過程，則有相當高的戲劇性。
