Julien Fang was graduated from the Oil Painting Department, Shanghai National Art College in 1965. He is renowned for his acute observation and aptitude for depicting the figures in different poses and different moods, all in praise of human life and genuine revelations of human nature. His works are rich in color, remarkable for their cogent feelings and strong visual impact.
He emigrated to France in 1987 and his works were then taken on an Eastern poetic feature. He also created his series Cosmos and Life there. Fang had held more than thirty exhibitions over Europe and America and was crowned as middle aged excellent artist after Zhao Wuji and Zhu Dequn in Paris.
In 2000, an invited exhibition Works of Julien Fang was held in Shanghai Art Museum. His paintings won him special reward and highest Judger Prize separately in France and America.
In recent years, His oil paintings have won many prizes and have been purchased by national museums and memorials of many countries and Prince Charles of Britain, PrinceAlbert of Monaco etc.
