掛墩角蟾M. kuatunensis pope; Gaden megophrys外形與小角蟾Megophrys minor相近。本種體形較小；後肢較短，脛跗關節僅達眼后角與鼓膜之間。

頭長寬幾相等;吻盾狀,突出於下頜,吻稜角形;頰部稍凹;鼓膜明顯;具上頜齒,無犁骨齒;舌後圓形。脛跗關節前伸達鼓膜,左右跟部不相遇;趾緣無膜,趾間具蹼跡。皮膚較光滑,頭和上眼瞼有許多疣粒。顳褶極明顯,肩後有疣粒排列成行。生活時背棕黑,眼間具“V”形斑,背具“×”紋;腹有黑紋和白點;下頜中部有兩條白邊黑縱紋。
