1954年生，博士，西華師範大學生命科學學院教授，碩士生導師。西華師範大學學報編輯部副主任，自然版主編。專業及研究方向為生物學教學論、生化與分子生物學。已發表論文近40篇，出版專著3部（編著1部，參編2部）。獲省部科技進步獎兩項，省教學成果二等獎1項。對中學生物教學有較為系統的研究。2004年被全國高校學報評為“十佳”主編。

大熊貓和四川黑熊基因組和蛋白組比較研究
試圖利用結構基因組所提供的信息和產物，發展和套用新的實驗手段，通過在基因組或系統水平上全面分析基因的功能，使得大熊貓和四川黑熊基因研究從對單一基因或蛋白質的研究轉向多個基因或蛋白質同時進行系統的研究，探索大熊貓和四川黑熊基因組進化的連續性和變異性、生物之間的親緣關係、闡明基因結構和演化、調控序列的結構和功能、內含子的進化以及基因功能。
